Wise Words

There is a vast potential, latent within human beings, that remains
undiscovered because of the limitations placed on
consciousness by habitual preoccupations. The
recommendation that all cravings be relinquished
does not mean that detachment itself is a goal; it is
a means of breaking through self –imposed restrictions
and opening up this inexhaustible treasure of potential.

Sheep Shearing

Just a note about sheep shearing. Today we (Shawn and me) sheared eight sheep. Hard on the body but good for the soul. It is a very earthy experience. You get to know your sheep from head to toe. It is an activity that has been going on for thousands of years. A true gift from God. I will share some pictures of the girls with their new hair styles in a few days. Right now I have to rest!

The Wreck of the Number Nine

Hey Todd get a load of this! It drives my wife nuts and then she has folkster songs in her head all night!

Grinding Down

The field of boundless emptiness
Is what exists from the very beginning.
You must purify, cure, grind down,
Or brush away all the tendencies
You have fabricated into apparent habits.
Then you can reside in the
Clear circle of brightness.

Mondays

Mondays are the day that I reclaim myself. Being present to other people is more draining than anything I have ever done before. So after a day of hospital visits, praying etc., one whole day alone is usually my medicine. Adding things to my blog is a good exercise. Meditation practice is the real deal though. Not only does it restore spiritual energy but it heals the body as well. Mondays are indeed good days.

St. Isidore pray for us.
